I do not like Starbucks, but I’m beginning to change my mind.
So I went there one day with a friend, and ordered 2 “Frappuccinos”. They were surprisingly good, although a bit too sweet for my taste since I got used to not putting sugar in my coffee. I asked my friend if they were really that sweet and my friend said no, I thought to myself that the barista might have placed too much sweetener or something, or if it was a pre made coffee mix then he might have placed too much. I didn’t mind the strong coffee flavor just the excessive sweetness. The consistency of the drink was good, they were using Blendtec after all, considering its price, it will perform as promised.
The staff were quite friendly as opposed to the staff at Blenz, they called my friend by her first name and knew exactly what she was going to order. Being a bartender before, this is a great way to make regular customers, we weren’t just customers, we were friends!
The ambiance was like every regular Starbucks outlet, too cozy, the downside of which is “masarap tambayan”. We were sitting outside, and a bunch of college students were in a table beside us, noisy as hell, kids these days. Can’t blame them though, coffee is best drunk in the company of friends right?
Although my visit was positive, I’m still not convinced that Starbucks serves “good coffee”. I will come back and order an espresso and let you guys know. And also, I am trying to copy the taste of the Frappuccino by using simple ingredients (using instant coffee, sugar and milk), I think I’m very near the actual flavor, I just have a crappy blender, just spins everything around. Once I’ve perfected it, I’ll share the recipe with you guys. Jai Ho!

hmmp are you a coffee lover?
hehehe, what made you think I’m not? There’s more to coffee than what starbucks is telling you miss pink palaboy.
